Usually I avoid books written by celebrities. I'm just skeptical that they will be anything more than just a publicity tool. So I was a little wary of Denise Nicholas' Freshwater Road. It sounded like a good idea, but would it be well executed? Well the reviews look good, so I'm going to read it. Plus I was a big fan of In the Heat of the Night, so it's a little fan thing too.
